I installed, it's quite interesting. It replaces the ad with an image, but the link from the ad is still active. Is there a way to toggle the application on and off?

Not sure if you mean turn the link off or turn Add-Art off so I will answer both.

You'll want to use Adblock Plus for that. Here's some links:

MemberI installed add-art on two mac laptops and now both are having problems with firefox shutting down.
i don't know if it is because of add-art or adblock but i would like to remove them both anyway. please can you tell me how to do this because i can't find anything in your FAQs or forum to help me with this.

but it's probably an issue with corrupt preferences for firefox in os x. I would do a thorough google search.
