Getting this when trying to install:

"Firefox could not install the file at

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/latest/6846/addon-6846-latest.xpi?src=addondetail

because: Invalid file hash (possible download corruption)
-261"

I have a problem that after few minutes my Firefox is closed. I am not able to get the exact problem. One more problem that when I am going to install any addons then it gives some error in certificated and my installation is not continue.
Can anybody help me.

I too have the "because: Invalid file hash (possible download corruption) -261" problem. The error message shows up right after the add-on has downloaded, during the installation stage. I confirmed this problems with Firefox browsers on two different laptops, running Windows XP and Windows 7 respectively. Both versions were running Firefox v3.6.3.

Is there a problem with the installer hash?

I just submitted a new version to Mozilla as this is basically out of our control. Hopefully that will fix things once it's approved.

Hii..error 261 occur bcoz of some invalid hash file... Try to disable real-time anti-virus checking programs during the download and installation of that extension.Some security programs can lock files and make it impossible for Firefox to finish the download properly or u can just download it to the desktop then drag it to the add-ons box, it will install. try this
