@Janso - We love that suggestion! So much so in fact, we're working on the tootip thing already:
http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/ticket/40
It's a little tricky, but we're trying for a future release.

@Leo - yeah, the links are out of our reach right now so we've just got info on http://add-art.org. We've got a ticket for that too:
http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/ticket/85

Love these ideas. Keep thinking. And if you got programming smarts we've got everything you need to get started here: http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/

Thanks guys!

That's basically what I came here to say. I don't know how practicable this would be, but just think about it -- you could transform the dumbing-down advertising into a learning experience! Maybe include a clickthrough link to the artist's page, or a relevant wiki article, an exhibition featuring the art, etc., if that's possible.
For now, though, I'll be content to look at the pretty pictures.

Could you change the tag artbanner for the name of the picture? It can be great to put the mouse over and see "artbanner: La Gioconda. Leonardo da Vinci" instead of just "artbanner". What do you think?

thanks!
