Hi Steve,

I am getting blank spaces (not black ones). E.g., on the NY Times site, the background is white, so the spaces are white. I can see that an ad is still "there" because my mouse cursor changes and the URL is for an ad. (I didn't click it, though. Don't really want to see the ad!)

I am looking at the same sites that I was looking at before. I have not only restarted but rebooted.

Adblock Plus 0.7.5.5

@redtape - yeah, it's all black. Feel the minimalism.

@Morisato - the art is chosen by the curators. Each curator has different ideas about how it should work with the browsing experience. Some work with it, some work against it, some work alongside...

if i'm not mistaken, the art looks like black 'empty spaces' because it's supposed to, right? that's the whole idea behind the black monochrome paintings, correct?

if i'm not correct, i'd love for you to let me know because that would mean that my add-art didn't update either...

Not trying to be rude and all, would be nice Steve if you sort of stuck to the artsy images than a random image from some tv. Only reason why I mention this is because when your browsing and having all those ads replaced by that one image you've chosen, it sort of destroys the whole outlook of the whole page.

Vue des Alpes curated by Sara Cook and Hiroshige's One Hundred Famous Views of Edo were pefect since they are actually art art.

Screenshots from The Computer Chronicles (resized and cropped) on the other hand made the whole page of whichever one your viewing look disasterous in a way. Just try and see for yourself if you go to a site with some ads and you'll know what I mean. I just meant to say to choose more mellow pictures that blend in with the/a site rather that make it obtrusive.

Hi,
With the new show, I'm not seeing ANYTHING in place of ads. There are just empty spaces there now, but I saw the art of the previous shows. Any idea why this is happening?
Thanks,
Linda

p.s. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the whole add-art idea. I was using adblock before, but this is even better. I'm all for putting more art into the world, whether the physical or the virtual world!

Version 0.7.0 was released today!

NEW ART
This show is curated by Charles Broskoski, "Black Monochrome Paintings Cropped and Optimized for the Web." Charles found monochrome paintings by modern masters like Rauchenberg, Kelly, Malevich, Marden, Reinhardt, and Rothko. Because they've been optimized for the web, you can no longer see any of the details in the paintings. In fact, they're so optimized our last show was some 7mb, this one is 64KB.

here's a screenshot:
http://add-art.org/files/broskoski/miami-herald.png

NEW FEATURE
This release includes a new feature masterminded by Ethan Ham. You no longer need to update the whole add-on to get new art. When a new show is released, Add-Art will automatically download the images in the background and alert you when new art has been delivered. It will still come every two weeks, but you won't need to download a whole update. Just click "ok" when the dialog box appears and restart firefox and you'll start seeing new images. From now on, we'll only need to release updates when we make changes to the add-on.

Firefox 3
We're still working on getting Add-Art working in firefox 3. If you'd like to contribute, please join us on the mailing list http://add-art.org/content/contact and check out the development site: http://add-art.org/content/contact

Thanks!
