Hi -- Instead of getting the new art, now I'm getting black boxes again! Have FF 3.0.1, add-art 0.8.1, and the following config items:

Hey,
Really enjoying add-art - thanks! One small complaint - when y'all send out the new images it triggers a drop-down alert telling me that it's happened. That's fine, but I have Firefox set up to open up multiple windows when I launch it and I"m getting a drop-down on every window. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying. Maybe you could set it up like most other FF addons so it opens up a tab in one of the windows instead of the multiple drop-downs?
I'm on a Mac, 10.4.11, FF 3.0.10
Thanks!
ALbo

This may or may not be a new twist. Like many other posts I have ads being blocked but no art showing. Have disabled all other add ons (except Ad Block and Ad-Art) and gone through all the other suggestions. Ad-Art doesnt even show up in about:config. I am using the most recent version of Firefox 3.0.6 and dont have any other script blocking going on.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. Your concept here is a million dollar idea and I'd love to see it in action.

Best wishes from Seattle

Steve on "broken images instead of art"

This came up in another post.

Try this. Enter "about:config" as your url. This will show you all your preferences. Enter add-art as the filter. You should have 2 preferences; currentImageSet and expiration. If not, that might be part of the problem.

If so, the setting for "currentImageSet" should, as of today, be 4. (with each show it will increase) Right-click and select 'modify' then change it from 4 to 3. Open a new window in Firefox (new window, not a new tab) and in a few moments it will tell you add-art has downloaded new images. Restart firefox and test. Let me know what happens.

Basically what I'm asking you to do is check if your preferences are being set, and if so, that the art was downloaded. And then forcing it just to see if that is the problem. We'll see where this gets us.
